Sphaera Imperturbata

The model presents Earth as a single, unbroken sphere of pale stone, its surface free of every familiar interruption. No blue of ocean, no green of forest, no jagged spine of mountain range remains. What appears instead is the pure geometry of temperature itself: a globe whose smooth curvature has been gently and irrevocably altered by four decades of measured change.

Across its face the latitude bands lie quiet and parallel, like the faint rings of a long-weathered marble. Where the northern reaches have swollen outward under the press of rapid warming, the southern mid-latitudes have drawn inward, forming broad, soft depressions that catch the light like shallow basins.
